The Cultural Moment — The Questions That Won't Go Away

These are the hardest studies to write and the most necessary — the topics where teens are wrestling in real time, often in isolation, and where most youth pastors do not feel fully equipped to lead well. They are theologically faithful, pastorally careful, and unwilling to dodge the questions. On sexuality, gender, and the body, the study holds the real distinctions the platform is built to honor — there is a genuine difference between teaching what Scripture says, critiquing cultural alternatives, and pastoring a teen wrestling personally — refusing to become either a culture-war broadside or a soft pastoral evasion. On justice and mercy, it takes seriously what Scripture says — Micah's "do justly, love mercy, walk humbly," the prophets' fierce critique of injustice, Jesus announcing the kingdom as good news to the poor, the early church's radical generosity and witness on reconciliation — without collapsing into a political program or deflecting from personal sin, honest about the church's historic failures and faithful to what it's called to be. Studies built to equip teens to engage the questions that won't go away with theological depth rather than cultural reactivity.
